I'm watching you so don't even try to take my seeds.

Oliver with his back to me but very clearly watching me! In heavy snow, the animals have such a hard time finding food that I've been putting extra treats out. I'm worried about Oliver because his fur is looking strange like it's coming out? I hope he's ok.
February's over. End of the "Squirrels in Snow" series.
Hope it's just a seasonal thing. Don't want anything happening to Oliver.

Don't worry. Squirrels moult their coat twice a year – once after winter and then in the late summer before the weather gets colder again. Oliver is a gorgeous chap, I do like following his exploits.

Oh - I was so pleased to read Casablanca's reply - Oliver is too cute to be sick. :)

You know they have been surviving snow long before you put out extra treats.

They used to say if you are going to feed the birds in the winter keep feeding them all winter as they get used to it. But anymore they say that is a myth because the birds know how to find food in the winter. I am sure that applies to other critters.
