Mentor and Friend, Everywhere

In our photo walk tonight, I learned SO MUCH! Taffy (in the center of the photo here) taught me how to do focus in the dark night full of lights and great expanses of darkness, using the live view button, magnifier, and manual adjustment. Then -- I was able to troubleshoot Michael Elliott's live view button! Michael taught us about composition, and basically "framed" this one by talking it aloud, and it was a fantastic evening of walking, talking, and photographing.

Michael has posted his image of Taffy in his album, and the difference in percentage of structural framing vs skyline, body language, etc. have contributed to two different feelings:

Fantastic shot, really like the mix of the industrial foreground and the city in the background.

As @michaelelliott said - this is so dramatic with the framing and city lights, as well as the mysterious figure @taffy. Fav for me too!

This is an amazing shot, Junko. The foreground material adds drama and framing.

Love the framing, and the almost incongruity of Taffy in the industrial structure makes for a very intriguing picture. Fav
