Saturday Afternoon at the Bellas Artes by jyokota

Saturday Afternoon at the Bellas Artes

Alternatively entitled, "Where's Waldo/Wally/the Clown?"

Standing on the balcony of the Bellas Artes when I was forced to leave the concert, I started "people watching" and enjoyed the scene in front of me. I like that there are different groupings of people: a man taking photos, couples walking together, families with parents with arms around their children, a man who appears to be selling/showing something to a couple on a bench, a couple with mysterious big black bags next to them, people reading, people on their phones. But what really draws my interest to the scene is the clown (identifiable with large shoes, striped stockings and some white on his face) clearly entertaining many people and holding their delighted attention. And also in the photo, there's the man pushing a cart full of Aguas Frescas (fresh fruit juices). But what's with that monument called "Beethoven"??? Apparently, it commemorates the centenary of the ninth symphony and was a gift from the German community to the city of Mexico.
Great capture of street scene from a high perspective.

Wonderful shot! It takes a lot of "looking" to see everything going on here. A real slice of life with all the vibrant colors.
