Going backwards through your images and each one is breathtaking!! What a trip you and Taffy had and well done on capturing so many fabulous images!! Thank you for climbing those mountains!! Fav!
Phantastic shot!
I have also visited the cone mountains in Yangshuo - several years ago on a trip to China. The landscapes there are wonderful. In Beijing I visited the Hutongs and the Forbidden City. I hiked along the Great Wall, traveled to Yangshuo, hiked to the rice terraces in Ping'an, and finally went by train to Hong Kong.
By the way: "Karst" is a common term in Austria.
@jerome -- I also visited the hutongs in Beijing but I don't think I've posted those photos yet. I did post the Forbidden City but a funny one rather than a recognizable one. I haven't been to the Great Wall in 22 years! Many of the photos we have been posting like this one are from Yangshuo, as you recognize by the "cone" shapes. We were there for the wrong season for the rice terraces but hope to get back to seeing them. I went to Hong Kong in 2013 and I'm sure I posted a few photos back then. SO much to see in China! Taffy and I are talking about a trip to the "Hallelujah Mountains" in Zhangjiajie next. Have you been there? Now those are TALL mountains!
No, I have not seen the "Hallelujah Mountains" in Zhangjiajie. Unfortunately I was traveling in China for only two weeks - much too short to see everything... China has a vast range of landscapes. Very, very much, I would like to visit this country again in my life and to see more. This is a fantastic country.
By the way: From your logo, I conclude that you are from Japan. My son is a big fan of Japan. He was in Tokyo a year ago. For two weeks he was at a language school. He speaks Japanese very well, can read and write Japanese (I unfortunately do not). After matura, he wants to study Japanology - that is fixed. Before that, however, he has to do civilian service (instead of military service). He is enthusiastic about Japanese culture (me too). My dream: explore Japan during the cherry blossom - starting in the south and traveling in the same harmony with the blossom wave to the north... As I said, a dream...
