Laura Secord

Laura Secord was a Canadian heroine of the War of 1812. She is known for having walked 20 miles out of American-occupied territory in 1813 to warn British forces of an impending American attack.
It's another really cold day in Ottawa with temperatures still around minus 20 degrees Celsius.

@summerfield
Happy New Year to you too Miss Vickki. No I'm not based in Ottawa. I'm just up here looking after Dan's Mom.

So good to see you back! i also have been missing a lot of 365 for health reasons. I am just south and east of Ottawa - and yes it is bitterly cold!
Wishing you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

@farmreporter Thanks Wendy. We were south and east of Ottawa tonight. Went to Upper Canada Village for the Alight At Night. Will post a photo tomorrow :) Wishing you a great year. Maybe we can do a meet up when I am in the Ottawa area during warmer weather :)

We went to Alight at Night just before Christmas but I did not bring my camera since I was with family (lots of kids) and knew I would not have time to do photos. I live so close that there is always next year!
It is quite the sight, isn't it? I really like Upper Canada Village and go there often. As a matter of fact, I plan on buying a membership this year.
I get to Ottawa often and would love to meet up with you there. Just give me a shout when it is convenient for you and we will make it happen.

@farmreporter I'm never too sure when I am going to be up here but will be making an effort to come as often as I can in 2018. My email address is in my profile. Maybe we can arrange a 365 gathering in a central location...A tour though Kingston Pen in the Spring???
