Otira Hotel by k1w1

Otira Hotel

Living in a rural area of Ontario is not always the greatest for internet. Our internet has been down for over a week so now I am trying to play catch up.

Otira is a small township fifteen kilometres north of Arthur's Pass in the central South Island of New Zealand. It is on the northern approach to the pass, a saddle between the Otira and Bealey Rivers high in the Southern Alps. Otira means "o" (place of) and "tira" (the travellers). Built in 1865 and restored in 1902, Otira Stagecoach Hotel is situated in the heart of the Arthur's Pass National Park. It offers antiques throughout as well as stagecoaches and horse wagons outside. All rooms features unique, restored furniture of the era. It was interesting. We didnt stay we were just passing through.
Have I missed something? When were you in NZ...Did you come north?

Dof is great catching all in focus. The misty hills adding drama to the shot and looks great on black.

@rustymonkey Karen I took all the photos I am posting of NZ when I was down there last year. I got so far behind that I thought I would use those to catch up. We were in the north for about 3 weeks....about 3 months too short.
