practising panoramas, talk about drama!
there was auroral activity last night, someone from my photoclub took a beautiful picture of it so I ventured out to see, but there are too many hills and the light from the town towards the south for me to get anything. supposed to be even better tonight, but its cloudy here.
I got cold ears.... it was 0 degrees and everything was all sparkly in the torchlight
super panorama - and at night too! So clever and well documented! I didn't go out for any panorama - too many street lights, well one big one actually! And too cold!
This looks great with all the stars and the subtle detail on the hill.
I tend to "reshoot" photos I like in my head - here I'd love to see some details of the road (because I really like that faint line) or even less of the foreground.
But this is just me, great shot.
@gazdi i couldnt see what I had until i got home, i just point and shoot becasue I couldnt see anything in the viewfinder!! i agree that i wanted more stars than foreground, and i did enhance the detail alittle so that line was visible, but if i went too far the noise would eat this alive....
Forgot to comment this last night, The moment I saw this shot, I went outside but rewarded with cold air and cloud. Even the cat refuse to follow me. I would love to see this large.
Such a beautiful capture - and I can't believe you didn't know what you had until you got home! Stunning. I haven't tackled nightly skies yet and I find beautiful ones (like this one) amazing!
The night of the 22 morning of the23 was good for auroral activity. I got some nice photos of it. I tried also to do some panorama at night. It didn't want to turn out for me. So nice shot.

tears galore tonight... stars are so far away.
