I hate even to mention "technique" given discussion in other threads, but the horizon line, would not you consider straightening it? This is a much more powerful image than the one that sparked our original disagreement, but still a little more detail in the waves and/or the water? With editing technique, yes, that cold technique thing again, you might get some detail in one of the spray or the water with a faster shutter, and then blur the rest in the editor. It would for me be stronger if you did so. a "contrast" thing...
@frankhymus :) I am glad we can still talk on the level.
techniques can be very subjective depending on the intention of the photographer haha
I take very many photographs of the sea and at various shutterspeeds etc. these ones that become abstract studies of movement are the ones that float my boat.
I have enhanced structure and detail from the original using software, i hate to go overboard with that though.
as for the horizon line, it is not a straight line because it is the crests of distant swells. so i dont feel a need to straighten it, no.
This really draws me in, especially the lower fifth; like I want to start wading out . . . The horizon appears wavy from wave action, not crooked, at least to me. I also like the spray and crash. All around great shot! :)
This image is wonderfully conceived. The shades: a broken purple - in a wonderful contrast to the yellow color in the wave, which overturns - on the right place. Gorgeous is modulating from light to dark, from dark to light. There is no bump, everything flows, also pictorially... Extraordinary aesthetic. Wonderful expressed the breathing of the sea, the rhythm of life... The horizon - everything fits beautifully.
A wonderful picture with sensuous atmosphare. Real seen and expertly designed - powerful and sensivel.
Huge fav
