Today i went to see an exhibition of digitally remastered Rembrandts. Fascinating to see up close how he painted.
Sounds fascinating 😁

It would have been interesting to see.

this made the news recently, didn't it? As the same process created a new "Rembrandt" and the discussions around how ethical or realistic that was

@shannejw i guess it would be, its not often something like this comes to such an out of the way place. the workes were printed on large metal plates, reproduced from many photographs, shedding the ravages of time, in one case the original has been irreparably damaged by acid, some had been cropped years ago and they have added the missing parts to restore the integrity of his composition. they even speculated that he would have loved the whole thing, saying that he was so famous in his own time because he disseminated thousands of prints of his work.

Exceeding reality. Some times I am scared by how much in depth they can go with these digital techniques!
