mechanic

my eldest, the drifter.
he has built his own car for the track, here he is in his workshop rebuilding yet another gearbox. I shudder to think what he has spent on his hobby, but so proud of him, he has great skills.

ons transportation
That is quite the workshop. Makes you wonder how he keeps track of things?

@skipt07 hmmm he is rather more organised than he was when he lived at home, he is thinking of building an extension onto the workshop soon, which probably means he will spend even more money *sigh

@skipt07 Looks like every great mechanics shop I've ever stepped foot in. Trust me they know where everything thing is but you could never find it for them.

@kali66 Great shots

A lovely subdued palette - it oozes engine oil and concentration.

Understanding the mysteries of an engine and associated parts is worthy of total respect. I admire his passion.

Wow that looks very impressive. Great collage, I really like the tones in this

Neat shots and composition. Fav

It looks chaotic to the outsiders, but solitude can be found in the place by its owner. love the movement of the towel.

I would have no idea what to do with any of those parts! :o) Great shot of him and the shop!

Great environmental portrait. Love the tones and processing. These days with new cars being computerised there is no need to know what is going on under the bonnet so anyone who has the patience, passion and knowledge to work on cars is practising a real skill.

What a skill set, and a brilliant portrait!

hobbies are scary! i know that from experience. they sometimes turn into something monstrous as far as the bank account is concerned.

now, twice this week you've tagged me on a 'private photo' on five pkus two that i of course couldn't access because it's a private photo. what's up with that? :-)

@summerfield are your ears burning?
July 21st, 2014
@kali66 - tee-hee!
July 21st, 2014
@summerfield sorry Vikki i didn't know you would get notifications from private photos :{ we are having discussions about a replacement for Jenny, but nothing is decided yet
July 22nd, 2014
@kali66 - does it make sense to replace her when you have 6 more posts to go? unless of course you guys are planning to continue on. in which case i would like to put forth 2 names for you to consider. :-)
July 22nd, 2014
@summerfield we will go on....so go on....
July 22nd, 2014
Great shots!

To understand all that stuff around him must be a great skill. Does he do this to earn a living?
July 22nd, 2014
@tristansmum no he drives trucks and diggers for a living, he does charge his friends to do work on their cars and makes some money doing up cars to sell. he is entirely self-taught, just amazing really
July 23rd, 2014
@kali66 - wendy bowden or deb. they're both inventive and fairly good with photoshop.
July 24th, 2014
@summerfield and what about your good self are you not interested ;-) your name was mentioned as you know....
