Joan @joansmor said to pick one of the challenges from round 318 and i chose to pick one of my favs to emulate. I really enjoy @peterscherub2 Judy Dean's black and white lensbaby images of foliage and flowers, for their dreamy, glowy, low contrast winsomeness so i will try a few in her style this week using a closeup filter and wide aperture to blur with as i dont have a lensbaby. example http://365project.org/peterscherub2/365/2018-06-07
@joansmor@peterscherub thankyou for the inspiration, it is a challenge for me to lower the contrast so much and find a nice balance between blur and detail. i intend to do more this week with these intentions, love your work Judy :)
Meant to also say thanks for explaining how to achieve this look without a lensbaby...I do love that lensbaby look, but don't have one and wasn't sure how to go about trying it. So nice to see these! :)
@sandrajo i have enjoyed playing with different methods to getting the blur happening, i just hold the closeup filter in front of the lens and tilt it , you can do the same with freelensing or make your own https://www.diyphotography.net/build-a-lynny-a-diy-lensbaby/ when i did it i improvised a shank with bicyce tyre tube !
@sandrajo no, more like a magnifying glass ,, in fact you can use one of those! i have a set that screws on the end of your lens, but i just hold and tilt it
