A Real Fixer Upper by kannafoot

A Real Fixer Upper

I've frequently driven past this decaying garage and I've always thought it would make a great "photo a day" subject. I finally decided I'd best take the photo while the garage is still standing. Today was an overcast day and the lighting was perfect for the shot. The amount of tree and brush clutter in the background only adds to the image, so I made no attempt to blur the background.

Post processing was similar in nature to what I did to some barns five days ago. I ran this through a "spicefy" filter in Topaz Adjust to enhance the tremendous range of colors in the garage and fence. Back in Photoshop and ran it through a "poster edges" filter to accent the dark lines. A heavy sandstone background texture was added, and I drew the saturation down a bit since the colors were a bit too bright at this point. Finally, a yellow photo filter was added to improve the contrast and tones.
Very interesting shot... love the lines and the textures.

@crickle1969 - Thanks! Amazingly, I went by there yesterday, and this building is still standing.
