This weekend marks the 150th anniversary of Rhode Island's General Ambrose Burnside assuming command of the Grand Army of the Potomac in 1862. We gathered today in Burnside Park across from Kennedy Plaza to rededicate the General's monument that was desecrated last year by the Occupy Providence movement. Several Civil War reenactment regiments were present including this youth group representing the 14th Rhode Island Heavy Artillery unit. In today's photo, the young soldiers affix bayonets to their rifles as part of a Civil War maneuvers demonstration.
Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted the adaptive exposure and adaptive saturation sliders. I brought the photo into Neat Image to remove noise from the 400 ISO exposure setting. A slight levels adjustment was added in PSE.
