Aquatic Fire Truck

I spotted this fire boat heading up the Providence River while I was crossing the I-Way bridge on my way into work. Amazingly, I was able to exit, head into Providence, find a place to park, switch camera lenses, and still beat him to this location in front of the National Grid power plant. Now, there's a touch of humor in this shot that would only be evident to a long-time Rhode Islander. Until the river cleanup was executed in the 1990s, the possibility of this river catching fire itself was very real. It was one of the most polluted rivers in New England, and the spew from numerous upstream mills was both highly toxic and highly flammable. I found it quite amusing to see a fire boat heading upstream on what was once a flammable river.

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, contrast, protect highlights, and adaptive saturation. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
