I went to Sabin Point for today's photo. To be honest, I was hoping to get a photo of some driftwood on the narrow sand strips along the river. When I parked, I saw these gulls - mostly ring-billed gulls and a single lesser black-backed gull - sitting on the dock. With the interesting looking merchant vessel in the background, I decided to take a safety shot before something spooked the gulls. I'm glad I did. Temperature was in the low 20s (F) and the wind off the water was bitter. My fingers were numb by the second shot. I've no idea if there is driftwood on the sand since I retreated to the warmth of my car immediately after taking this photo. How many days left until spring?
Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
