Coming Through

We finally got some nice spring temperatures, so I decided to go downcity for street photography. Walking through Kennedy Plaza, I suddenly heard the sound of rollers approaching fast. I barely had time to raise the camera when these three skateboarders came whipping around the corner of the building to my right. Fortunately, I had the camera set for rapidly changing street photography (i.e. ISO 200, f/8, aperture preferred mode) and caught this scene just as the first boarder came flying by me. This is about as impromptu a photo as you can get. No time to compose, no time to change focus, no time to adjust settings, just raise the camera and press the shutter. It's one of the many things I love about street photography.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@hayleymolloycook Thanks, Hayley! I do appreciate not sending the bad weather this way. lol @bkbinthecity Thanks, bkb. Stumbled on this one by accident! @dmdfday Thanks, Diane! A couple of steps to the left and the "motion" would have been me crashing into the boarders. lol @calm Thanks, Cathy! Was a beautiful day to be out there. @marienzz Thanks, Marie! My theme for this year is b&w, and street photography compliments that very well. @lilminimonka Thanks, Brianna! I started street photography last year as part of a challenge from some friends since I always tried to avoid including people in my photos. I'm so glad I took that challenge. Street photography is an amazing experience!
