Retirement Perks

My original plan for today was to attempt some motion blur photos on the bike path. I really like the setting in this location, so I setup the tripod here and took photos of about a dozen different cyclists coming through at varying speeds. I also took a "safety shot" of this older couple riding through using settings that would stop the action instead of capturing a motion blur. I'm glad I did. I've never really liked the motion blur effect, and today's photos were no different. The only photo I liked was this one of the two retirees casually riding through at a leisurely pace. Meanwhile, I'm happy to report that I've gotten the motion blur concept out of my system for at least another year.
Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Lol I like motion blur but I find it really difficult :D
Maybe you should try panning, it's like the opposite of motion blur haha :D
Anyways, great shot! The pov is nice :)
@justaspark LOL Thanks, Jule! I do pan a lot, actually. For some reason, though, there's something about motion blur that disturbs me. It's like my mind keeps trying to force it into focus. lol Anyway, I'll stick to the non-blurred shots!

@aponi All these bike path photos have given me an urge to get out on the bike, too.
