Family of Four

I went to Sabin Point to see if there was anything interesting going on at lunch today. There wasn't. It was just starting to rain, so there was nobody out and about. I spotted these four Ring-Billed Gulls sitting at the far end of the docks, though, so I equipped the 70-200mm with the 2x teleconverter and went for this long zoom. The two on the higher pilings are adults, while the two lower gulls are juveniles. It's highly unlikely this is a nesting pair with fledglings since gulls don't stay together like that, but I thought the "family of four" concept looked interesting enough to capture it. I also decided to keep the highly blurred windmill visible in the background as a subtle reminder of how many birds are killed by these contraptions annually.
Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
