Before the Storm

I stopped at India Point Park on my way into work this morning since I was planning to go out at lunch and wouldn't have time for a photo. There wasn't much going on, except for this small boat of fishermen heading out for the morning. Hurricane Albert is slowly making its way up the coast, and is scheduled to start to entertain us later this evening, so the weather was already hot and humid. The wind hasn't picked up yet, though. The latest forecasts have the hurricane passing off to our east, so we should end up with heavy rains and gale force winds, but nothing more than that. This could be an interesting hurricane season, though. I don't ever remember a full hurricane coming this close to RI the first week in July. Our hurricanes tend to be later in the season when the water's warm and the gulf stream is close to shore.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
