Kayaking off Conimicut Point

A friend of mine at work mentioned that there are frequently kite surfers and wind surfers off the coast along Conimicut Point. With that in mind, I went to Conimicut this afternoon hoping to photograph them. Unfortunately, despite a very strong wind on the water, there were no kite or wind surfers to be found. There was, however, this couple in their hybrid kayaks (neither a white-water kayak nor a true sea kayak) paddling back to shore after a morning of fishing. They were too far out for conversation - this was taken with a 400mm lens - but folks alongshore were pulling in some good sized scup. Depending on their objectives, they may have had a successful outing. In the background across the river here, you can just see the Providence skyline as well as the wind farm at the Port of Providence.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
