India Independence Celebration

The Rhode Island State Capitol grounds were the scene of this weekend's "India Day" festival marking the 67th year of India's independence. The woman featured in today's photo was walking in the welcoming parade leading to the steps of the State Capitol. The walkway was lined with vendors, many selling food from the various regions within that vast country. I stayed just long enough to take a few photos, however. Nearing the end of a long career in technology, I find it difficult to celebrate anything related to India. For me, India represents outsourcing, unemployment, and the loss of hundreds of thousands of high paying American technology jobs, all thanks to the ridiculously low wages paid in India by companies like Infosys, TCS, and a handful of others exploiting that country's overpopulation.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
