The calendar tells us that it is fall in the northern hemisphere. The leaves on our trees are rapidly turning vibrant shades of yellow and red. The air is getting crisp, and the wind has a chill that promises cold weather in the not-too-distant future. All of those signs can be ignored, however, until the Kayak School at Lincoln Woods State Park stores their kayaks for the season. After that event, there's no turning back and we can only resign ourselves to the inevitability of black ice, frozen windows, and shoveling snow. Sadly, that event was today. You see in this photo, the last of the kayaks lined up on the beach for their final cleaning before being locked indoors for the winter. I guess we can no longer deny the change of the seasons.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-jZmsnVf/0/XL/2014%2010%2003_0003%20copy-XL.jpg
