It's simply amazing how one little orange light - a light no larger than 1/4 inch by 3/8 inch - can completely change one's plans. The light in question was on the instrument panel in my car, and it just happened to be shaped like a gas pump. Now, Rhode Island has one of the highest gas taxes in the nation, so I avoid buying it here whenever possible. The Massachusetts state line is only a couple of miles from work, so off to Seekonk I went and managed to break the $3 barrier ($2.96 to be exact) for the first time! I'm loving this crash in the oil market.

Anyway, that side trip to Hess Express for gas took way too much time out of my lunch break. Instead of heading to Rumford as originally planned, I took a quick loop through Haines Point Park. Driving in, I noticed the wonderful shadows being cast near this campsite. The lighting was perfect, and the setting was ideal for a late autumn morning.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white.
