Sometimes I feel overcome by all the beauty that surrounds me. I feel ashamed over how much time I've wasted wishing I didn't live in Kansas. But I can't imagine living anywhere else. I cannot convey how much owning a quality camera helps one notice what they used to ignore. But, even when I don't have it, I am noticing everything! Life is full of abundance. I am so grateful. This photo, by the way, is another scene from the country drive I took last night. Though I have some lovely photos to share from today, I just couldn't let this one slip by. Enjoy a tiny piece of heaven on earth. Enlarge for better appreciation.
This is just gorgeous!! I didn't realize the beauty that was around me as well until I started this project. It has given me a new perspective on this great state I live in!! Fav!
Just saw this on the discussion page. It is a gorgeous shot. There is a mystery of the PP page. No one knows for sure how it works, but to me it seems like how many looked, commented and faved in a short span of time. And, maybe how many followers you have vs comments? When I first started I got on the PP a lot. Now I almost never get on there. Seems the more followers I have the less likely I get on the PP.Any way in my opinion, this should have made the page on it's beauty not on the magic of the PP. :-) The main thing is it is a gorgeous pic. Being on the PP or not being on the PP doesn't change that
Hi Kareen, I have just read you article on the fairness of the PP. I just thought I would let you know that I thought the same thing about this particular photo. I actually nominated it as my favouriet fav of someone else. Your work is good!
I too came here after reading your article. This is a magnificent capture! I acknowledge your work as a Fav. This Project does inspire us to appreciate and notice what we previously ignored. Thank you.
Belated fav and congrats. I can't imagine how lucky you must be to live in Kansas. So close to the Rockies with mighty rivers and not to much population
@peterdegraaff Peter, thank you so much for the fav and for your nice comments. Yes, I do love Kansas, but it took me a long time to embrace it. Our Governor recently stated that Kansas has a "subtle beauty." Indeed it does. It makes it all the more fun to "hunt" for it.
This is my preference but they are both great photos.
