My mom passed away on September 14th, leaving her family with what remains of her life which was spent collecting and selling all things beautiful. She always had a knack for interior decorating. This represents only one room in her house. Sadly, most all of her treasures will likely be auctioned off next year. I think of Dr. Seuss's wisdom, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
So sorry for your loss Kareen. Not only do you grieve for the loss of a loved one you have to clear all their belongings too and that is a heart-rendering task.
Dr Seuss' quote is so true. And you will cry and laugh as you sort through your mother's things. It's now one of our precious memories of my mother as we had to do the same with her house many years ago. Treasure the memories.
I think your mother had a wonderful eye for design like country chic.
