I just love old relics like this! LOL! This one makes me chuckle! I LOVE IT! It's rusty and dusty but the glass is still intact! Love the color, grain and texture of the wood in the background, too! Another Fav for me of a Karenation kind of shot! May I pin it, please ma'am?

@myautofocuslife Thanks for that comment, Livia. I was in such a hurry to get something onto upload . . and then I saw this old place and spotted some old relics. That was it! Some New Years Eve, huh? The way that I like it tho. Quiet.
Love these old lanterns! Nice shot- and such a great quote for heading into 2012. I hope and pray it's a fantastic year for you with lots of blessings from God above!
i love this lantern. reminds me of one we used to have back in the days when our house was the only one in the street not to have electricity. quite embarrasing but looking back now, i think it's very cool. i think old stuff like this is romantic. beautiful crisp shot. i like it!
Okay Karen, you got me with this on - now I'll not only have to follow you, I'll spend the time and go back through your Project.
Awesome shot and subject! BTW - I am a Nikon too. Take a look at YouTube and Lynda.com teaching videos. Also, I was a middle school librarian in Washington state for 16 years! Currently live on the Oregon Coast and work half- time as a publications/communications person.
@mamabec Thanks so much, Becky. I'm a newbie on the project. My husband got me the Nikon for Christmas and I'm spinning my wheels trying to learn the thing. We live in Michigan near one of our daughters. I majored in English but never taught. We lived near Tacoma, WA for awhile (my husband was in the Air Force). And I love that state. We've been down the Oregon coastline and that's a great beauty too. We're retired now and this project is perfect for me. Your philosophy and beliefs are so much like mine . . love your outlook on life and your spunk. Looking forward to seeing your photos! :)
@summerfield Thanks, Vikki. (gotta get used to that!) I was running all over the place this afternoon trying to find a pic and then saw these old relics in an old shed. My husband and I both tooks pics and his turned out better than mine. But I didn't cheat . . this is mine. :)
@onarom Thanks so much for all the great comments, Dale. You're the one who knows how to "rock the camera!" Appreciate your great support and the fav. Have a great new year . . looking forward to seeing more of your photos!

@louisefrance Thank you so much, Louise. Funny how I ran into this old relic when I was looking for something else. Guess that it pays to "look up!" Looking forward to more of your photos, Louise!
