I can't believe it myself. It is a moth and she hatched this morning ( this pupa has been on the rubber tree inside my apartment). Unfortunately I was not able to witness the hatching but when I checked she must have just emerged as I could see a few wet drops on the leave below the Pupa. The moth ( I think it is a gypsy moth) sat there to dry its wings and let me take a few shots of her.
You must know I am usually quite scared of moth and other flying insects - so this is huge for me to get so close. I opened the window and at some point during the day she flu out, starting her new life.
