I got this tattoo the day that I had realized I had overcome a trauma (last summer). It's a quote from Kurt Vonnegut and is a reminder of the ever-flowing nature of time, of life, of trauma, of endings, of beginnings.
I read a quote today in Ulysses--"History is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake."
I think I connected with Stephen, the main character, when I read that. I'm trying to feel less hopeless about the possibility of being doomed to hopelessness.
Maybe next time I take this picture it'll be more in focus. I hope so.
