Tried going in natural light and see if can get good sunlight to keep the focus good... ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I feel like a get it on the verge of a portion but can't get it across the picture. If anyone is willing to give advice on getting sharp focus consistently (Individual, small/large group of people). Thanks in advance!!!
I see by your exif data that you were using a focal length of 105mm. The longer the lens the narrower the depth of field and your distance from the subject will also affect dof. Looking at your photo I suspect you were standing relatively close to the flower and with your lens set to 105mm even at f8 your dof will be quite shallow therefore pinpoint focusing is required to get the entire flower in focus. It would appear that you were focussed on the rear petals which is why the front ones are not in focus. Try focussing on the front petals and if that still isn't enough try using a focal length of around 50-80mm or narrow your aperture to f11 or f16. Hope this helps.

Thank you Chris!!!! I really appreciate your reply... You were completely correct about where I was standing. This gives me some direction of how to think about capturing what I am looking for!
