Kathy thanks for the faves and comments. I immediately loved this and the title is superb . I have always been drawn to your technique in work and I must say, I have really seen a steady development of growth in your photos. Your project is turning out so neat!
@worthitall Rashella, Your thoughts, comments and encouragement mean a lot to me. This project has made me more aware of God's creation and the wonders around us. Oh and thanks for the fav!
@dauber Thanks so much for your encouragement! When I looked up how many eyes spiders have on the internet it said they have four sets so maybe that is because they are compound eyes. I will have to read more about it.
Great macro shot, wonderful focus and detail. As far as I'm aware Spiders usually have 8 eyes, they are not compound (as in insects) and their sight isn't particularly good - they rely more on touch and vibration
Wonderful shot, congratulations on the PP, Can I ask what lens did you use on your D7000 for this shot? Did you use manual or choose on of the scene settings? sorry for all the questions it's just that I have a D7000 and can't seem to get a very sharp macro shot. This is great. have to fav it.
@lesleyallen Thank you Lesley, I appreciate your question because I am here to learn and love sharing. This is a lens my husband and I gave each other for Christmas. It is a AF-S Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED. (That is what it says on the box.) One of the new feature on this lens is the VR which is a vibration reduction and helps the camera stay in focus if your hands shake. I took a Basic camera course so do everything in manual unless I am around people where I have less time. This lens takes a little getting use to but I love it now. On our camera with macro shots, focus is important. I have the best results from spot focus. Based on light and movement I take tons of shots at different ISO's, shutter speeds and f stops, always zeroing out my light meter. With this shot I was on the ground and really close to the spider. Hope that helps.
Wow this is such a great capture! There have been a few pics of the type of spider lately. He's actually kinda cute! I wil have to go hunting for one someday soon! :)
Great focusing and love the pov - Spiders are brilliant models for portraits :-)
A very well deserved PP
