So after the news on Saturday that Maggie from our barn had to be put down, I found out this morning that the horse I use to sponsor broke her leg very early this morning and was put down around 4:00 a.m. My friend Susan and I spent most of the afternoon today playing with her ponies and my Flicka. You never know when it could be over :( What a crap weekend :(
@jankoos@dh@genesis_one Thanks for the thoughts! This was a tough weekend for me. Was supposed to be the "Family" long weekend that we celebrate here.....but I spent the weekend scrolling through old photos of those I have lost. :( Thank goodness for all those photos :)
How sad. :( In a way, it's good that the mare who broke her leg was found so quickly - at that time in the morning, it would have been too easy for her not to be found until later. Poor beautiful creatures. Like you say, you never know; definitely time to hug ponies.
