These bicycles have not been used in a while. I was visiting a nearby island that is "off the grid". Originally settled by hippies with pot as the primary crop, they have no electricity and the ferry is walk on only. They are a very close knit community with feral sheep and a woman who has almost 100 St. Bernard dogs.
