Saturday, Dec. 6 was our annual alternative Christmas market at church. There is always a "petting corner" for the kids. This is a macaw who was one of the creatures in the petting corner. The children were invited to look at and talk to him. He was chirping, raising and lowering his wings, hopping around and "talking" right back to them. The kids loved it! The handler also asked each group of kids if any of them had a bird or another pet at home. He talked to them about the bird, his size, color, bird care and ended by thanking the kids for spending some time with the bird.
September 2015 - I dropped my Nikon L22 at the arboretum (on asphalt!) and it's definitely broken. :(
October 2014- finally reached 365 photographs and it...
Oh my what a fabulous parrot. I have always wanted one - probably an African Grey - but part of me thinks thru should be flying free. I understand they are very affectionate more so than a dog! It must have been a very enjoyable meeting for those children - they are very clever birds too.
