A hosta, I think

These plants are in front of the building where I work. I think they are hostas. They came up as tightly closed leaves; now they have opened up and a few have flowers. My grandmother had hostas in her garden with pink flowers. I miss them.
The leaves are as attractive as the flowers! A good flower than never seems to die!

@carolmw @pyrrhula There were some last summer in front of the building where I live, and the slugs got to them.

They are hostas -- I do like these plants so much and we try to grow them on the island, but rabbits and deer also seem to like them a lot!

@kchuk I grow them in (big) jars/pots. Than it is easier to deal with the slugs. There are natural pesticides that kills them.

Yes it is a hosta. I have tons of them all around my house in many different varieties. I take care of slugs by putting beer in cat food cans in the ground. The slugs go in, can't get out and get drunk, happy and then drown.
