Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. . .
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

I didn't get very many photos today. I was going to stay longer to capture this water but my mom and I were chased off by a mountain lion. I was too frightened to photograph it. I just ran. I know, the worst possible thing to do.
I recently moved from Tucson, Arizona to Modesto, California.
I finished my Ph.D. in Political Science focusing on American Government and International Relations. I have a...
Beautiful shot! Frightening experience with the mountain lion! Glad you got away okay. Instinct would have kicked in for me, too...I would have gotten away from it as quickly as possible.
Discretion is the better part of valor. Did you at least keep an eye on it? If you stay away from cover and go towards people running is an option, especially since you can't make yourself seem much bigger to dissuade the lion. :) Glad all was well ultimately, an experience you and your mom will share for the rest of your lives! Nice photo, serenity interrupted.
Worst possible thing was NOT getting a shot of the cougar! haha....just kidding! Glad you and your mum are safe and sound. We had lots of cougars when I lived out west....and when I was much younger. I am sure they have pretty well been killed off.... :(
Being chased by a lion is a pretty monumental moment in your day. I think stopping to take its picture might have been folly on your part. This shot will do in the meantime.
Beautiful water capture! I would have run from the mountain lion too (even though this is probably not the best thing to do). I am glad both your mother and you are O.K.
love the water, reflections, and the verse - it's the one I use whenever I'm afraid so I would imagine it would come to mind if I encountered a mountain lion!

You still captured a gorgeous photo. Love how you've captured the water.
