I do not know what draws me to the sea
I cannot help but wonder at what it is
That is supposed to be

My step is stopped by some and
what brings their pain
And, then, what makes some go again

But staring at this wide expanse
Brings perspective to their hurt
and chance

And reminds me how briefly it is
that we come and go
And these things I do not know
I know
