The area of Battery Point, Hobart, Tasmania was settled around 1818. So much architecture in this suburb remains from those early years, that it is easy to feel like you have stepped back in time.
As I gaze upon this door, I envisage a time long past, when ladies wore long, layered flowing dresses with matching hats and usually had a few kids in toe.
Stepping outside their home to wander the narrow streets of early Hobart. Dirt roads abound and horse and cart were the mode of transport, if one was not using their legs to walk.
I like the hint of green in the foliage.
