Down in Front

Tourists come from all over the world to this spot by the zero milestone to take photos of themselves in front of the White House. Today, as I walked by, I noticed the police were blocking the view. It's not an ordinary shot of the White House, so I liked it.
Good photo journalism. I like the unusualness of it, too.

I love new views of things I see every day too, but I sure don't see the White House. Nice capture. I wonder what's going on...

@lauriehiggins Thanks, Laurie. I wondered that myself.

Even more security than I remember seeing when Deb, Elena, and I were there. Any idea what was up?

Very unique shot. So often photographers chop out this like this. I like that you left them in. :)

This capture is worth at least a couple of coppers (Do you call the police that in the States) and a copper in England is also a penny. Wish I hadn't started that now. Nice capture of The White House.

@davydo I'm guessing they increase visible presence when the president is on the move.

@moxy Thanks, Shelley!

@otter Thanks, Otter. I've learned that without something unusual like this, a White House photo looks like a plain vanilla tourist shot.

@ladymagpie Ha! I love your posts. We refer to police as cops, so it's very similar--leave it to Americans to shorten it as much as possible. And thanks for your compliments on the photo.

@tahoemb Thanks, MB. Normally the police aren't so obtrusive at this location.
