Montpelier Southern Magnolia by khawbecker

Montpelier Southern Magnolia

Today, I visited the formal gardens at Montpelier, James Madison's plantation estate near Orange, Virginia. Although the mansion was built in 1760, the gardens were created by Annie Rogers DuPont in the early 1900s. I found this secluded old Southern Magnolia in a corner of the lower garden.
Gorgeous tree and great shot.
