Monumental Columns

The giant columns of the Lincoln Memorial.
MONUMENTAL, indeed! That person is such a critical part of that sense of monumental. At first, I thought you should have trimmed a little off the left but then, I wondered if you should have left MORE in to show how the columns go on . . . beyond the frame here.

@jyokota Thanks for your comments, Junko. You might be right about trimming off a little on the left where that extra little shadow is. If I add more, however, it elongates the photo and actually makes the columns look shorter. Counterintuitive, I know.

@jyokota Junko, you were right. I trimmed that left shadow. It looks better. :) Thanks for the tip.

Astounding! What a triumph of the Greek revival style. The figure on the right certainly lends perspective to the composition

Capturing the lone person in the shot, and he appears to be looking up, really makes the photo. This is Popular Photography worthy! Super, Karen!

Fabulous architectural shot and including the figure to give scale. Fav
When I was a young teenager one on my list was to visit the Lincoln memorial which I was lucky enough to do in my twenties, I would love to go back someday now that I have a love of photography.
