Taken whilst travelling in Thailand in 2009, this was my first sunset on Koh Tao. I was eating my chicken pad-thai, quietly confused/scared that I'd managed to go travelling alone. I was wondering when I would make friends, how much I would miss my family...then I looked up and spotted this sight. How could this not calm any worries (however momentarily!). Taken with my old Casio Exilim (wonderful little camera...survived the world, then just I fell on it one day and broke it, I was heart-broken), all I've done is straighten the horizon and add a border. Oh yes, and removed a tripod! The colours are as they were.
@jantan It's so wonderful round there isn't it! @humphreyhippo Thank you, I was fortunate to be presented with this scene and not have to put any effort in.
@kirstyalexandra Thanks:-). I love the way it's almost symmetrical with the sun shining through the 2 boats, and totally love the colouring. Just brilliant.
Awesome shot, Kirsty! The timing is perfect and you so well captured the sun kissing the horizon. Lots of going on and I also feel the sentiment. An instant FAV!
