You know it's winter when the sun is still rising and it's 8:15 a.m.!! In summer we would have had full daylight for more than 3 hours by this time. This was taken at the nursery this morning.
@ssimon I thought the same thing about the fire!
Francoise, I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it is winter there. 8:15! That's late!!!!
@ssimon@nana2r In real life it was an amazing colour. When I downloaded the photos, the first thing I thought too was 'Fire'!! Sunrise is around 8:00 a.m. and sunset 5:00 p.m. - but we make up for it in summer, daylight saving and sunrise around 4:30/4:45 a.m. and sunset late into the night around 9:40 p.m. Bliss.
@judi812 It is very crisp - sometimes heavy frost. We've gone down to -4 overnight a couple of times this month. Today was sunny(ish) and a pleasant day with no wind. I was surprised to notice that the maximum at the nursery was only 9C. After living in the semi-tropics most of my life, I find that I have acclimatized very quickly!
