Gone but not forgotten

A sad day for the beech tree. It had to come down and we were just lucky it didn't topple in the windstorms we have been having. It amuses me that we chop trees down then chop them up again. We have a different view now too but the birds are missing their favourite perch.

Its nice when you can make use of the wood that has been carefully nurtured by the tree!

always a sad day when a large tree is toppled, i remember the kerfuffle from the birds when we chopped the largest tree down on our property
