Sam is actually a 'she' cockatoo. Apparently you can tell the gender by the colour of the eyes. Females have burgundy eyes and males have black. Sadly she is missing her feathered friend who featured on 30th October but who unfortunately died the day after. Sam likes chewing anything within beak's range but she does say hello to me even though I keep my distance.
