Tear it Down

photo 471
When you are driving on I-75 south and are merging onto I-94 west this is the sight that everyone sees. A few years ago we were driving past this building and my daughter said “they should tear that building down.” What is evident to a 5 year-old is not so evident to the mayor of Detroit. These are two major expressways and anybody who is even just passing through can see this eyesore. Embarrassing.

PS: I did not shoot this from the expressway.

Great shot of this, your daughter seems very smart. Shame they do not do something with this site.

There must be something of value in it or it would be gone, at least you would think. Your processing does it a great deal of justice.

Cool processing

That sure does make an ugly statement! Great capture, Ken! Does it have any historical value?

Cool shot. Well done. Looks like it needs to come down.

what a great shot and narrative. empty buildings deteriorate so quickly and become such a hazard besides being hard on the eyes.

One of the joys of 365 for me, before I started this project I would not have noticed the hidden beauty in these buildings, great shot Ken

Still a lot of action around it. Sometimes it takes a long time to go... Great shot.

Its a pity that buildings are allowed to become so derelict

great urban shot ken, we have similar derelict buildings in the UK

Looks fascinating to me. Would be great to get inside - although maybe not so safe.

@fueast Yeah I'm not so sure I'd go in that one. The Packard Plant is another story though...

Very nice shot! I'm usually a preservationist, but I think I agree with your daughter on this one...
