@robz interestingly they are comfortable while I stay sitting on my quad bike - if I get off and approach on foot, crunching leaves, many of them head high and hide :) maybe they think I'm a robot or something attached to the bike hahaha

@koalagardens That is interesting - they don't see you as human. We have the same thing with the Indian Mynas - while we're in Moto ( which is like a two seater quad bike) they don't care about us - we could drive close enough to shoot them - but walk out into the paddock and they are gone! :)

@mave it's all in the thumbs ;) truly, koalas have 6 thumbs - 2 on each hand and 1 on each foot, so they really grip. then there are the huge claws of course :) having said all that, we still shake our heads and wonder how they do it!
