@shutterbug49 technically we call them nocturnal as they usually have a couple of hours being active at night. however they sleep anything from 18-22 hours a day. eucalyptus leaves are very tough, low in calories and take a long time to digest. so they basically pack themselves full, then sleep until they are ready to eat again. They are often just king of dozing, it's not always a deep sleep, but when they sleep deeply they can be hard to wake!
