I think some animals hunt by movement. In my own experience, blue herons over at the pond for instance, are excellent at hiding in the long reeds. I often can’t find them at all until they move. Maybe freezing is an instinctive way to avoid being seen by Koalas ... which is odd when I think about it since, I think, Koalas don’t have a lot of natural predators.
The squirrels in my backyard will sometimes do the same thing. They just stop what they're doing and stare at me as if by freezing I won't see them anymore. Silly things! Great shot.
