Hugo has spent about 6 weeks in hospital as I found he had chlamydial conjunctivitis in his left eye, so had to catch him and take him in for treatment. It is wonderful to have him back, but he has a lot of smells to catch up on as it has been so hectic here with so many koalas!
Oh my goodness! Hugo's eyes look clear and bright! (No more Chlamydia infections for you, sir.) I am so glad he's back and ready to catch up on smells!
@dutchothotmailcom Koalas have a smell all their own, and as they live on eucalyptus there is a definite influence there. the males also have that big oily scent gland, so particularly in the breeding season the musky 'koala' odour can be quite strong - great question!
@dutchothotmailcom I can imagine that catching him was not an easy job. Coming back now he must be wondering what you all got up to, while he was gone and where all the new smells came from.
