Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo by koalagardens

Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo

Such strong beaks - they rip open the bark to retrieve borer grubs. These are huge birds and their screech l-o-u-d.
I like to call them the 'town planners' because the work they do either kills the tree, leaving room for new saplings, or the holes they make become hollows in 100 years time creating apartments for many other species to nest in :)
Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my project.
